Sr. Imelda (born Mary Patricia) of Fethard, County Tipperary, Ireland, came to the United States in 1931 to join the order of the Ursuline Sisters of Tildonk. She went on to teach at Our Lady of Grace and then at Holy Family High School where she not only taught math but also served as the department chair.

Sr. Imelda was joined in her vocation by her older sister, Sr. Mary Patrick.
