A native of Waterbury, Connecticut, Sr. Joan (Joseph Ann) Sirtowt entered the Ursuline community in 1963. She earned her BS in Education from St. John’s University and a master’s in Theology from St. Michael’s College in Vermont. Sr. Joan taught at Sr. Maurice and St. Thomas the Apostle and served as the Director of Religious Education at Nativity BVM in Swanton, Vermont for 25 years.
