October 28, 1918 – October 5, 1974

Sr. Damian, born Anastasia Harrington, was a native of County Tipperary, first entered the Ursuline community in 1935 in Haacht, Belgium and professed her final vows six years later in Blue Point. She was gifted in her proficiency in languages and music and earned her Master’s degree in French from St. John’s University. Sr. Damian taught at several schools throughout New York, Connecticut, and Canada including Nativity BVM, Our Lady of Grace, St. Alphonse, and St. Mary’s High School.
