Sr. Mary DeMontfort grew up in South Ozone Park, NY and entered the congregation of the Ursuline Sisters of Tildonk in 1954. She spent twelve years as a teacher at St. Maurice before being called to serve her community. Sr. Mary took on the role of the Formation Director where she worked with the novices and postulants overseeing their spiritual growth. She went on to serve on the Provincial Council and as the Assistant Provincial. Sr. Mary also served as the Administrator of the St. Ursula Center in Blue Point and was instrumental in rebuilding the convent after it was destroyed in 1980 by a fire.
