Sr. Joseph (Josephine), of County Tippeary, Ireland came to the United States to enter the congregation of the Ursuline Sisters of Tildonk in 1928 and professed her final vows seven years later. She taught at St. Thomas the Apostle and Our Lady of Victory where she also served as the director of the parish’s religious education program and, for over 20 years, served as the Director of Studies for the Ursuline Sisters. Sr. Mary Joseph then served as the Director of Religious Education at St. William the Abbot and remained active in the parish for another 20 years before her retirement to Blue Point from active ministry at the age of 81. After having been a member of the Ursuline community for eight decades, she passed away at the age of 97.
Sr. Joseph was joined in her vocation as an Ursuline Sister of Tildonk by her sisters, Sr. Vincent and Sr. Rita.
