Sr. Paula (Ellen) Carey entered the congregation of the Ursuline Sisters of Tildonk in 1938 and devoted her life to education. She earned her BS in Education and BA in French from Fordham University, a diploma in Catechetics from Lumen Vitae in Brussels, and a diploma in Liturgy from the Liturgical Institute in Carlow, Ireland. Sr. Paula went on to teach at Our Lady of Grace, Our Lady of Victory, Holy Family High School, St. William the Abbot, St. Gregory the Great, and Our Lady of Hope. In her retirement from teaching Sr. Paula was a Pastoral Minister visiting the sick and homebound of St. Gregory the Great Parish. After six decades of service, she retired to Blue Point where she continued her ministry of prayer.
