A native of Long Island City, Sr. Virginia Greaves entered the Ursuline community in 1965. Sr. Virginia had a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and master’s degrees in religious education, marital and family counseling, and a Master of Social Work. She taught at Nativity BVM, Holy Family High School and St. Mary’s High School before beginning her ministry of social work. Sr. Virginia was a social work supervisor at Good Shepherd Services at St. Germaine Group Residence and the program director at St. Joseph’s Children Services’ Mother & Child House.
